“Ghosts harass and annoy Tess to save their souls. Sometimes she helps them. Other times she ignores them. But one ghost will give her no choice. Kipp, a former cop with the Memphis Police Department, will stop at nothing to gain her help, including using his ghostly charms to seduce her.
Tess must help solve the five-year-old cold case of Hannah Reid’s disappearance, because solving the case will save Kipp. But a bigger problem presents itself. Tess is falling in love with a ghost. Now she must decide. Keep Kipp forever, or find the killer.”
Supernaturally Kissed is book one in the Frostbite series by Stacey Kennedy.
At seventeen Tess Jennings was involved in a tragic accident, accident in which she lost her parents and she was clinically dead for couple of minutes. After her ordeal Tess woke up with a gift or as sometimes she calls it a curse, she can see dead people.
Living with her gift and pretending to be normal is not an easy task, she tries to ignore the ghosts around her as much as possible, but Kipp McGowen is a different kind of ghost, he’s not only persevering but sexy as hell. Kipp was a policeman who died investigating the cold case of the disappearance of a young girl. He is sure he was murdered because he was too close to finding the culprit. Kipp needs to give all the information he has to his partner Zach Foster so he can continue the investigation and for that he needs Tess’ help. Tess doesn’t want to get involve but Kipp methods of persuasion are almost impossible to deny.
I really liked Tess, I loved her sense of humor and her sassiness. I understand completely her position in regards to ghosts and her desire to be normal. I also loved how she took things in hands and accept the responsibility she had at hand.
Kipp, oh my god Kipp! He is smart, funny, caring and hot as sin, he is the dream hero with a corporeal problem.
Since the first moment they met the attraction between Tess and Kipp is off the charts, the sexual tension builds page after page making my reader rise steam and making me pray for a solution for Kipp’s little lack of body problem. I didn’t know how they could have something but Mrs. Kennedy found a very plausible solution to this dilemma.
From the secondary characters I really loved Kipp’s police partner and friend Zach, he was great and brought many funny moments to the story. The other cops Max and Eddie were also great and very entertaining. I just had a little problem with Tess’ best friend Caley, she was just too much, her personality was almost a bit cartoonish, so much that I wanted to hit her on the head more than once.
Supernaturally Kissed is not only a book different from the norm but a very funny and enjoyable one. Its great characters, a flowing pace and a nice plot with a touch of mystery made of Supernaturally Kissed a keeper and a book to recommend.
Supernaturally Kissed was my first book by Mrs. Kennedy but I can guarantee you it won’t be my last, I’m looking forward to the next installment of this series and other books by Mrs. Kennedy.
My Verdict: 4 Paws
