“The Billionaire Boys Club is a secret society of six men who have vowed success – at any cost. Not all of them are old money, but all of them are incredibly wealthy. They’re just not always as successful when it comes to love… Billionaire Logan Hawkings needs a vacation.

He’s had a rough time after the death of his father and the betrayal of his fiancĂ©e. But with a visit to a recent business acquisition—a private island resort in the Bahamas—he has a chance to mend his broken heart.

When a hurricane blows in, a misplaced passport and a stalled elevator bring Logan together with an unusual woman named Bronte. She’s unlike anyone he’s ever met—down to earth, incredibly sensual, and even quotes Plato.

She also has no clue that he’s rich…

Bronte Dawson, a waitress from the Midwest, is stranded with the hotel’s domineering yet sexy manager Logan. What’s the harm in a little fling when it’s just the two of them, alone in paradise? But after several steamy island nights in Logan’s arms, Bronte’s ready to give her heart—and her body—to the man in charge.

But she soon discovers there’s more to Logan than he’s told her…a billion times more. Now, Bronte’s caught in a whirlwind affair with one of the world’s most powerful men. But can their love endure their differences or will it all just blow over?”
Stranded with a Billionaire is the first book in the Billionaire Boys Club series by Jessica Clare (pen name for Jill Myles).

Since the success of Fifty Shades of Grey, books with “Billionaire” in the title have been published in an unprecedented manner. Many authors are trying to get some of the spotlight FSG has created writing FSG look/feel alikes. For that reason I’ve been trying to steer clear of any “Billionaire… bla bla” books. This changed couple of weeks ago when Marq from Love to Read For Fun was talking on Twitter about Stranded with a Billionaire and how much she liked it. After talking to her I decided to give Stranded with a Billionaire a chance, now, after reading it I’m very glad I did.

One of the things I liked the most about Stranded with a Billionaire is that the heroine is not a virginal, whiny, empty head girl, but completely the opposite. Bronte is smart, witty and independent. More than once she stood up for herself and for what she wanted and didn’t let anybody bullied her into anything she wasn’t comfortable with.

Logan is tired of been approached only because of his money; he really wants somebody to see him for whom he is and not because of what he has. He finds that person in the most unexpected place and under the most unexpected circumstances. Sadly his previous experiences with women have ruined him and made him very distrustful towards others, especially women. Even though everything points towards Bronte being honest and true with him, his inner doubts make him distrust her and lie to her. One thing Bronte can’t accept from anybody is dishonesty, this created many conflicts between them, conflicts that only added to my enjoyment of the book because it allowed me see Bronte as the strong woman she is and Logan as the broken man his past has made of him, something he hides from others under the strength and self-assurance he irradiates.

The chemistry between Bronte and Logan is off the charts. Their relationship is based not only on sex but also in romance and trust. I loved that they took the time to know each other better, which made me believe in their love and see a future for them together.

Another thing I really liked was that the conflicts between Logan and Bronte weren’t far-fetched but completely realistic according to their situations, it was the same in the way they resolved them.

Years ago, Logan and five of his closest friends established a secret club; they call themselves The Billionaire Boys Club. The idea of the group is to help and support each other. They are all billionaires but that’s the only thing they have in common. They all went to school together and life and experiences made them good friends. They have the brotherhood to help them being even more successful than they already are.

Next book in the series, Beauty and the Billionaire, will be Logan’s best friend, Hunter’s book. Hunter is another member of The Billionaire Boys Club. His love interest was introduced in this book; Gretchen is a force to reckon with and I can’t wait to read their story. So as you can see this won’t be my last “billionaire” book, because I’m really looking forward to July 16th to the release of Beauty and the Billionaire.

All in all Stranded with a Billionaire was a sweet, sexy and a fun read; one I recommend you all to read. Don’t let the “billionaire” part of the title discourage you.

My Verdict: 4 Paws
