Motorcycle Man is the fourth book in the Dream Man series by Kristen Ashley.
For years I heard great things about Kristen Ashley’s books, last year when Own the Wind, first book in her Chaos series was released I succumbed to the peer pressure and read it. Even though I liked Own the Wind I wasn’t too crazy about it, so I didn’t read any of her other books. But this year, when I saw Motorcycle Man available for review I decided to give Kristen Ashley another chance. I knew many of my friends had loved Motorcycle Man; taking that in consideration the possibility for me liking was high. I’m happy to inform you I was right. Motorcycle Man is made of awesome and that awesome has a name, Kane "Tack" Allen.
Tack is the president of the Chaos MC (Motorcycle Club), he’s used to get what he wants when he wants, he doesn’t need excuses, he’s who he is, and is used to people accepting him without questions ask.
After a nightstand he realizes he just slept with the new woman hired to be his office manager. The last thing he wants and needs is a complication, that’s why he doesn’t sleep with his employees. The solution is to fire Tyra, but Tyra needs the job and doesn’t let him fire her. Tack only condition for her to keep her job is to never again engage in any kind of play with him. That’s easy for Tyra to accept, after being treated like a simple nightstand the last thing she wants is to get in bed again with a man like Tack. A man she thought was special, that’s why she did what she had never done before, she went to bed with him soon after meeting him. Just to have him throwing her out of bed soon after they were done, and if that wasn’t enough seeing him with another woman just one day after made her realized she was very wrong about Tack. He was just a bad decision that not only broke Tyra’s heart, but also showed him Tack wasn’t a man worthy of her heart.
Tyra may have no problem following Tack’s condition; the one that is having problems following his own rules is Tack. The more he learns about Tyra the more he likes her and wants her. And Tack always gets what he wants.
Saying Tack is an Alpha male is an understatement. He’s bossy, a no-excuses kind of man. He wants, he takes; he’s brutally honest and lives his life under his own rules. Still he has a soft core that doesn’t show much, but when he does he’s swoon worthy.
Tack was raised and has lived his whole life in the MC life. That’s what he knows and what he likes, so getting involve with a woman like Tyra whom not only doesn’t know anything about the life, but also needs to be treated more gently is not easy for Tack, but he knows Tyra is worthy of his effort and he’s willing to do whatever is necessary to make her happy and accept him in her life.
Tyra grew in a very quiet and religious family and has lived her whole life a quiet and organize life. That’s until she meets Tack and he turns her world around. Even though Tack scares her he makes her wish and dream for something different, something more. Tyra is new to the MC life; she doesn’t understand much of how it operates, and for a woman who has lived a life as shielded as hers is not easy to come to terms with the life, but she’s strong and honest and can ask for what she needs and Tack is smart enough to give her exactly that.
It was highly entertaining seeing Tack and Tyra fall in love. Their journey is not the usual one, but is was perfect and felt very realistic. The chemistry between them is off the charts and the sexy times are so hot they steamed my eReader.
I liked they are not a young couple and have to deal with things like a bitch ex-wife (Naomi) and teenager kids (Tack’s). Despite Tack’s unorthodox parenting he’s a great father, seeing him interact with his kids, Rush and Tabitha, was sweet and fun. I also liked how Tyra took the kids under her wing and became almost the mother they didn’t find in Naomi. I loved how Rush felt protective of her and how Tabitha found in her the friend/mother she had never had.
There are many more characters, other members of the MC and friends of the MC. The members of the MC are all great and sweet in a rough way. It was obvious there was a backstory with many of the couples present in the story (previous books); I liked them so much that I’m seriously considering reading the preceding books in this series.
Motorcycle Man is a highly entertaining book, with a hero that you shouldn’t like, but after meeting him you can’t help it, but fall in love with him, and a heroine so different to the hero that they shouldn’t work together, but actually she ends up complementing the hero perfectly.
Tack is a character that will always have a very special place in my heart. If you like Alpha heroes Motorcycle Man is a book you need to read.
My Verdict: 4 Paws
